Faith, Hope and Peace

We are all troubled by the recent violent events that have been taking place in this country. On hearing about another hideous act of hatred it brought to mind a part of a prayer that I’m sure most of us are familiar with. That’s the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi.

If I may quote the first verse of it here.

Lord make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me so love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy;

Whilst we can’t change what has already happened we can have faith, hope and peace in our hearts that this kind of mindless violence will be no more.

You see when we don’t have faith, hope or peace in our hearts we react from a place of disempowerment and weakness which results in this kind of behaviour in the first place. But it can also make us want to behave in the same way out of retaliation or revenge. This kind of harbouring of ill-will serves no purpose in your quest for health and well-being at all times, nor the well-being of society as a whole.

Focusing instead on what it takes to generate a sense of faith, hope and peace in your life will bring in these feelings as your feelings are the result of what you are thinking about at any given moment. So starting with the small things in life and bring in that sense of faith, hope and peace and start to see the results manifest in your life. From there and when your sense of well-being is stronger, you can start to expand the desire for faith, hope and peace into your wider world. Have no doubt that these seemingly small insignificant methods are far reaching.

Get back to us if you have any particular methods that you use to reset your centre of well- being when you are thrown out of sorts for whatever reason. Remember what you share can often help others. So let’s spread the word for well-being. Thank you and blessings.
