Do you just love the colours of autumn. All those red hues and golden tones?
Do you love stomping through all the fallen leaves making that wonderful scrunching sound as your feet kick them up, just like you did as a child? Autumn is a great time to reach back into your childhood and find those fun moments where as a child you did things spontaneously, whilst as an adult we have learnt to be more reserved and self conscious, wondering what others might think of us which, as we know, is not good for our wellbeing.
Autumn is often thought of as a dreary move into winter with everything dying off but really when you think about all those leaves falling they aren’t just dying, they are fully participating in this amazing display of colour, changing from green to gold to brown or to red before they just let go of their attachment to the branch and float freely towards the ground giving us a beautiful carpet of colour.
They have done their job, giving us the glorious shades of green in spring and summer and are now just going with flow of releasing and letting go.
We can bring this principle into our own lives by releasing and letting go of things that no longer serve us like resentments, past traumas, arguments and disagreements. Going with the flow of life helps us to release tensions, worries and anxieties, and allows in a freshness of new energy which raises your wellbeing.
Are you able to let go of ‘stuff’ you’re hanging onto? What do you do to process that? And going back to that carpet of leaves do you allow yourself the fun of stomping through them and kicking up a flurry of colour?
Let us know if you have fun with the autumnal colours. And if you’re struggling to move on from something do get in touch, exploring problems with someone who can give you an objective view can help you release and go with the flow. Just like those autumn leaves.
