Don’t let Fear …

“Don’t let fear interfere with your happiness” ~ Doreen Virtue

Are you letting fears and doubts restrict your dreams coming true?

We all have those niggles don’t we? I’m not good enough to apply for that job, or I better not say that in case my boss thinks I’m stupid. Or what will my friends think of me if I do this or that?

The trick is not to beat yourself up about it. The more you think about the fear or doubts or worries the worse they become because you are giving them more energy and actually depleting your own energy. For example if you keep thinking you’re not good enough for that job you will come to believe it eventually and then won’t apply for it. How do you think you will feel then? Worse, no doubt. This negative focus will result in you having an inferior opinion of yourself leaving you feeling down in the dumps and probably reaching for that bar of chocolate

Fear can put the brakes on good and fast if you let it. To overcome this you can try saying to yourself “I don’t know if I am good enough for that job (or whatever it is you are desiring) but if I don’t have a go at applying for it I will never know”. Or “I don’t know if I am good enough for that job but if I try to visualize what it might feel like if I get it then maybe I can get the courage to apply for it”.

Do you think you might be happier if you give that a try? Fear of failure is one of the biggest fears around. Often though failure can spur people on to regroup and try again.

By letting go of the hold your fear and doubts might have on you then bit by bit with some positive self-talk you can minimize it.

Try it and see. Your happiness really does depend on it.

Let us know what fears you have overcome and then found success. And if you need help to overcome some of those fears just get in touch.
