Are you waiting for this or that to change before you start to feel happier or feel better about yourself?
That new job, waiting for your holiday, or buying something new?
This kind of approach is living your life in limbo and not enjoying being in the moment. But really if you stop and think of it the life that you are living is right now, in this moment and then this moment and so on, not in the intangible future.
Life is made up of all kinds of moments; it’s up to us as to whether we choose to categorise them as good or bad. But whatever it is, it is still your life and you have a choice on how you want to feel about it.
Living in the moment is what it is all about. Becoming aware of your surroundings, noticing your reaction or non-reaction, and finding your contentment in that.
How can you re-organise your focus in life to bring you more ease, happiness and to boost your sense of well-being? Try to catch yourself when you are feeling low and ask yourself what you are needing to change to feel better? Then ask yourself if you can still feel satisfied with what you already have. How does that feel?
When we are trying to change old ways of thinking we often have to practice quite a few times before it becomes second nature. So don’t give up if it doesn’t feel like it’s working at first. Recognise that you are wanting to make changes and celebrate that!
